Welcome To Pennine Edge Forest Network

The Pennine Edge Forest is the woodland and environmental initiative for the east of Greater Manchester conurbation and includes the boroughs of Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside.

The Community forests programme was established in the 1990’s to take forward community forestry as an opportunity to improve environmental image, and quality of the region to project a positive image for investors and visitors and to improve the overall quality of life for those who live and work in the North West.

Pennine Edge Forest is a strategic initiative working to bring the benefits and opportunities of community forestry to the communities of Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside and create a high quality investment gateway to Greater Manchester, South Pennines and the wider North West region. The Forest will contribute to greener economic growth for the North West, and working with our partners in Red Rose Forest, will help to deliver a new positive image for Greater Manchester as a place to live, work, visit and invest in.
